Motorola quietly revealed the One Fusion+ without an announcement last month, but the non-Plus model was not. Today, it gets official.
Motorola quietly revealed the One Fusion+ without an announcement last month and it later launched in India as well. The previously leaked non-Plus Motorola One Fusion model was nowhere to be seen, but today the company is making both devices (more) official in a blog post published today.
Motorola One Fusion appears on Google Play with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 and an HD+ display
The Motorola One Fusion has been spotted at Google Play Console's Device Catalog as well as the Android Enterprise Recommended Catalog. Read on for specs!
Motorola has pleasantly surprised the Indian market with the launch of the Moto One Fusion+. While the device itself was unveiled a week prior to the Indian launch, what surprised many was the aggressive pricing on the One Fusion+. Coming in at ₹16,999 ($224), the device went head-on against the likes of the POCO X2, proving to be a decent alternative on paper with close-to-stock Android experience. It appears that Motorola has at least one more trick product up its sleeve, as the Motorola Moto One Fusion has made an appearance on the internet.
Motorola's foldable Razr phone specifications include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710
We have obtained the specifications for Motorola's foldable Razr smartphone. It'll have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 and support a new "Video 3D HDR" mode.
The first smartphones with foldable displays are coming to market in just a few months, and there's no telling if they will make our best Android phones list. Will the Samsung Galaxy Fold's inward folding display capture the hearts of consumers, or will the Huawei Mate X's outward folding display win the day? Motorola seems to be taking a different approach to the foldable as the company is said to be bringing back their iconic Razr brand with a vertically folding display. In my previous article, I detailed some software features of Motorola's upcoming dual-display foldable smartphone. Now, I have obtained information from a source that confirms the Razr branding and details much of the specifications.
Qualcomm lists more camera specifications for multiple Snapdragon platforms
Qualcomm has disclosed more camera specifications for many Snapdragon mobile platforms such as the Snapdragon 845, Snadpragon 710, Snapdragon 670, and more.
The system-on-chip in mobile devices play a really important role in image processing. There's a variety of imaging sensors for mobile platforms, but device makers can't simply slap together any sensor they want with any SoC of their choice. The Image Signal Processor (ISP) in the SoC is responsible for many things like demosaicing, autofocus, noise reduction, HDR, preview framerates, and resolution, and more. If you want to know exactly what kind of image sensors can be paired with a particular SoC, you'll have to ask the chipset vendor for that information. That information is usually accessible on the vendor's website, but there's no guarantee that the information will be comprehensive. Fortunately, one SoC vendor, Qualcomm, recently took the time to update nearly all of their Snapdragon product pages to show more camera specifications.
Qualcomm announces the Snapdragon 712 with a slight performance bump over the Snapdragon 710
Qualcomm has announced the next chipset in the series: the Snapdragon 712. As you can probably tell from the model number bump, this is a small upgrade.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC was announced nearly a year ago. The 700 series is a slight step up from the mid-range 600 series, but not quite on the 800 series level. We've seen it in a lot of devices from Oppo, Nokia, and other devices in the segment. Today, Qualcomm has announced the next chipset in the series: the Snapdragon 712. As you can probably tell from the model number bump, this is a small upgrade.
Fortnite is currently the most popular game in the world. It has over 200 million players and is available on every major platform. The latest v7.10 update now adds support for more mid-range Android devices by adding support for the Snapdragon 670 and Snapdragon 710. Epic Games also added support for the Samsung Galaxy A9 running the Snapdragon 660.
The Lenovo Z5 Pro GT has an absurd 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855
Lenovo has taken the stage to announce the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT as well as the mid-range Lenovo Z5s and mid-range Lenovo S5 Pro GT.
2018 has been a year marked by several trends. We've seen the rise of notches, which employ a screen cutout for the camera sensors, earpiece, and other sensors. And we've also seen other alternative solutions to the "bezel problem" appear: slider displays allow users to hide those sensors under the display, only revealing them when needed. And a more recent one--hole-punch displays--involves a hole in the display housing the front-facing camera. 2018 was also marked by other trends such as multiple camera setups and absurd technical specifications. So what happens when you take all of those trends and slam them into one phone? Well, you get the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT, a device that aims to be a true beast in every department possible.
Nokia 8.1 officially announced with Android One and Snapdragon 710
Nokia has taken the X7 that they launched in China and rebranded it as the Nokia 8.1 for Google's Android One program with Android Pie onboard.
Exactly one week ago we saw some interesting marketing materials leak from HMD Global. These materials were for an upcoming Nokia phone that claimed to be a rebranded version of the Nokia X7. We've talked about the benefits of smartphone companies rebranding their devices for a number of reasons. It saves them money while making the public think they are coming up with more phones than they actually are. It can also help them to distinguish consumer reception for specific markets. In this specific case, it allows Nokia to take the X7 that they launched in China and rebrand it as the Nokia 8.1 for Google's Android One program.
OPPO R17 and R17 Pro launch in India for Rs. 34990 and Rs. 45990
The OPPO R17 and R17 Pro were originally available in China, but now OPPO has announced they will be available in India as well.
Back in August, the OPPO R17 and OPPO R17 Pro were officially announced. The devices were originally available in China, but now OPPO will make them available in India as well. The OPPO R17 devices were among the first with "waterdrop" notches and in-display fingerprint scanners. Many have pointed to the R17 as being the base model for the OnePlus 6T, as OnePlus is a subsidiary of OPPO.
Google Camera ports work without root on the Poco F1, Mi 8, and Mix 2S
Google Camera ports will work without root on the Xiaomi Poco F1, Xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi Mi 8 EE, Xiaomi Mi 8 SE, and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S.
Google Camera ports have been very popular on our forums after we first reported on them. Ported Google Camera apps are used for dramatically improving picture quality on many devices thanks to Google's Portrait Mode and HDR+ technologies. As some of you may already know, Google Camera requires Camera2 API support to work. Most Xiaomi devices lack Camera2 API support out-of-the-box. To activate the API, most Xiaomi users need to at least unlock the bootloader to run a fastboot command if not root their devices to modify build.prop. For the Xiaomi Poco F1, Xiaomi Mi 8 series, and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, that's not necessary.
Qualcomm announces the Snapdragon 710 with a multi-core AI Engine
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 has been announced. It's the latest in Qualcomm's upper mid-range line of chipsets. It is built on a 10nm manufacturing process.
Qualcomm has officially announced the Snapdragon 710, the first system-on-chip in their new 700-tier chipset series. The 710 is the company's latest chipset in the upper mid-range market of smart devices, succeeding the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 found on devices such as the Xiaomi Mi Note 3, Xiaomi Mi 6X, and BQ Aquaris X2 Pro. The 710, like the high-end Snapdragon 835 and Snapdragon 845, is fabricated on a 10nm manufacturing process.
Exclusive: The Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 is a re-branded 670, coming to at least 2 Xiaomi devices
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 is no more as the company has re-branded it to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710. Furthermore, we can now share details of at least two Xiaomi devices that may launch with this SoC.
Qualcomm's highest-end Snapdragon series garners most of the attention from the press because it's where Qualcomm boasts the biggest numbers and latest features. But phones running the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 won't make up the bulk of new smartphone sales, in fact, it'll be those smartphones with the company's budget and mid-range system-on-chips that'll sell like hotcakes. With each new generation system-on-chip, the improvements made in the fabrication process and other aspects eventually translate over to other SoC designs. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 was rumored to launch this year as a cheaper, downgraded version of the Snapdragon 845, but now it appears that Qualcomm is re-branding the Snapdragon 670 (sdm670) as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 (sdm710) and we can also confirm that it'll launch on at least two upcoming Xiaomi devices.
