Things are a little different this year, though. Even though we saw the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro released earlier in the year, we are only getting a OnePlus 8T and not a OnePlus 8T Pro this time around.
How Qualcomm is Improving the Camera Experiences on Android Phones with its Spectra ISPs
Qualcomm's Judd Heape explains how Qualcomm is improving the camera experiences on Android phones with new features in its Spectra ISPs.
As the maker of system-on-chips (SoCs) that power much of the world's smartphones and wearables, US-based Qualcomm is undoubtedly one of the giants of the chip maker industry. The Snapdragon line of SoCs, for example, is used by nearly every major Android device maker for flagship, mid-range, and budget smartphones. Qualcomm gets plaudits every year at the company’s annual Tech Summit for advancements in the CPU, GPU, and AI fields, as it incorporates ARM’s new CPU microarchitectures and complements them with yearly improvements in its custom GPUs. However, its advancements in the field of cameras aren’t noticed as much, as they tend to go under the radar.

OPPO Find X2 and Find X2 Pro with Snapdragon 865 receive GPU driver update
After Xiaomi, OPPO has published a GPU driver update for the Adreno 650 GPU on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865-powered OPPO Find X2 and the Find X2 Pro.
Modularizing the internal components of an operating system is a monumental undertaking, but the result is that future software updates become easier to perform. Project Treble is the perfect example of such an effort in the Android ecosystem. While Google is exploring different ways to reduce fragmentation of the OS and kernel, chipmakers themselves are also working with OEMs to decouple low-level drivers from the Android OS itself and reduce update fragmentation. A handful of current-generation Qualcomm SoCs support updatable GPU drivers, which can be installed like standalone driver updates on PCs. Xiaomi has already adapted the design and published a “GPU Driver Updater” app on its Chinese app store, which is compatible with the Snapdragon 865-powered Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro. Following Xiaomi's footsteps, OPPO has now released a similar Adreno 650 GPU driver updater app for the OPPO Find X2 and the Find X2 Pro.
POCO F2 Pro Review - A battery champ that cuts the right corners
The POCO F2 Pro is a low-cost 5G smartphone from Xiaomi's POCO that takes on the competition with a low price and fantastic hardware. Here's our review.
The Pocophone F1, also known as the POCO F1 in some markets, launched with flagship specs at a killer price at the end of 2018. A hit amongst smartphone enthusiasts, the POCO F1 was one of the cheapest Snapdragon 845-powered smartphones to hit the market, though it wasn't without its compromises. A massive iPhone-like notch cutting into a 1080p LCD, weak haptics, and no NFC, to name a few cons, put the Pocophone F1 in an interesting spot. Sure it had a flagship chipset, but the rest of its internals could easily be found on a mid-range handset.
