Xiaomi's Mi 11 Pro flagship could bring major display enhancements
As per recent leaks, Xiaomi's upcoming flagship Mi 11 Pro could bring some major display enhancements, including a QHD+ 120Hz panel.
Qualcomm is scheduled to host the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit early next month. During the event, the chipmaker is expected to unveil its next flagship SoC — the Snapdragon 875. Much like last year, we also expect some smartphone OEMs to announce their next-gen flagships at the event. Last year, Xiaomi was one of the few OEMs that announced its Snapdragon 865-powered flagship Mi 10 series during the tech summit. This time around, we're expecting the Chinese smartphone maker to talk about the Mi 11 series. While Xiaomi is yet to reveal any details about its upcoming flagships, recent leaks suggest that the Mi 11 Pro could include major display enhancements.
Qualcomm and ASUS are reportedly teaming up on a gaming smartphone with the Snapdragon 875
Qualcomm is rumoured to partner with ASUS to launch its own gaming smartphone alongside its new Snapdragon 875 chipset later this year.
Chipset maker Qualcomm is reportedly working on its own line of gaming smartphones. According to DigiTimes, a Taiwanese publication focusing on semiconductor news, Qualcomm will be partnering with ASUS to produce its first smartphone that could arrive by the end of 2020. ASUS is expected to focus on the hardware and design while Qualcomm will be taking care of “industry design” and “software integration optimizing its Snapdragon 875 platform.” As per tradition, Qualcomm releases its new flagship chipset in the month of December with device manufacturers introducing their new phones in the following year. If the report is anything to go by, we might see the new Snapdragon 875 debut this year alongside the first finished product rocking the new chipset. However, the device is expected to ship by next year itself.
