Realme jumped into the league of affordable high-end phones by launching the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus-powered Realme X2 Pro (our review) back in 2019. The Chinese OEM reused the same SoC while designing this year's Realme X3 series, which turned out to be an effective decision to keep the price low without sacrificing the raw horsepower. The Realme X2 Pro was launched with ColorOS 6.1 based on Android 9 Pie, while it received its Android 10/Realme UI update a few months ago and is scheduled to get an "Early Access" build of Android 11 in the coming days. The Realme X3/X3 SuperZoom, on the other hand, run on Android 10-based Realme UI out of the box. All of these three smartphones have recently received new Realme UI updates with tons of new software features and optimizations.

Since its release, Realme's custom Android software, Realme UI, has managed to create its own loyal fanbase. The initial version of Realme UI is based on Android 10, while the upcoming second generation of the skin should be integrated on top of Android 11. Android purists might not like Realme's take on the operating system, but the OEM does offer a plethora of additional features and behavior changes through their custom user interface that you won’t find in stock Android. One such feature is "Smooth Scrolling", which is now being gradually rolled out to a number of Realme smartphones.

How to force 90Hz mode in every app on the Realme X2 Pro [Root]

The Realme X2 Pro features a 90Hz capable AMOLED display, but 90Hz mode doesn't work in all apps. Here's how to get around that.

The Realme X2 Pro is unquestionably one of the best-priced flagship-tier smartphones you can get, even in 2020. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, the phone offers an impressive quad-camera setup, insanely fast 50W charging, and a high refresh rate 90Hz display. Users have the freedom to choose between the 60Hz and 90Hz refresh rates, but the 90Hz mode is actually limited to only a handful of third-party apps. Our own Tushar Mehta tried out the famous ADB command trick from the OnePlus 7 Pro/7T/7T Pro to unlock the 90Hz mode at all times in all apps, only to find out that it did not work on the Realme X2 Pro. That was obviously going to be the case since the X2 Pro doesn't run OxygenOS but rather ColorOS/Realme UI.

According to Google, the first beta of Android 11 should be available on June 3rd, 2020. The Mountain View giant had to delay the release due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and consequently published yet another Developer Preview version to fill the void. While the Developer Preview builds are meant for the Pixel lineup, Realme has now announced that the owners of the Realme X2 Pro will soon get "Early Access" to Android 11.

The flagship-grade Snapdragon 865 powered Realme X50 Pro joined the club a few days later, while the newly released Realme X50m is the latest addition to the roster. The company has already published the kernel source code for the Realme X50, which might be suitable for the Realme X50m as well due to the vast number of similarities between these two phones. And now, Realme has released the kernel source for the Realme X50 Pro.

The X2 Pro (review), on the other hand, served the flagship space by bumping up the specs with a Snapdragon 855+ and up to 12 GB of RAM. Location services are among of the most useful applications on your phone, not only helping navigate your way but also allowing several apps to tailor features and services based on your location. A lot of these applications and other features like the AR-based Live View in Google Maps require high accuracy in your position. While the traditional Global Satellite Navigation Systems (GNSS) use radio waves of a single frequency to communicate with artificial positioning satellites and may not be very accurate, dual-frequency GNSS are gaining attention for their higher accuracy. A slew of recently launched Android phones which support dual-frequency GNSS includes the Realme X50 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S20 series, iQOO 3, OPPO Find X.

Last month, Realme launched the Realme X2 Pro, their first true flagship smartphone, in China and Europe and today they're launching the smartphone in India for an insane price of ₹29,999 ($417).

The TWRP custom recovery is undoubtedly one of the best options for the Android community to install any kind of third-party software on their devices. Google's ARCore (now Google Play Services for AR) is an SDK that allows developers to add augmented reality features to apps. While it doesn't require any specialized hardware, Google still has to work with OEMs to create custom calibration profiles for each device. Since each device has a different camera and sensor setup, getting the calibration correct is crucial for the AR features to work properly. Over the last few months, Google has whitelisted a number of new devices to support ARCore and now the company has added the Realme X2/X2 Pro, OPPO Reno 2, LG G8X, and more to the list.
