Smartphone OEMs typically reserve optical image stabilization (OIS) for the primary and telephoto cameras on flagship devices. They rarely offer the feature on mid-range and budget-friendly phones, shipping the devices with electronic image stabilization (EIS) instead. But Samsung has launched a couple of mid-range Galaxy A series devices with OIS on the primary camera this year, and the company is reportedly planning on extending the feature to more Galaxy A series phones next year.

After opening up forums for 11 new devices late last month, we are happy to announce we have added 9 more devices to the XDA forums. From the newly announced Galaxy A22 series and Huawei MatePad Pro to the up-and-coming OnePlus Nord CE 5G and Huawei P50, we have opened up forums for both announced and unannounced devices in this round.

The rollout of 5G technology is heavily dependent not just on rolling out the technology and infrastructure for it, but also on getting 5G smartphones on people's hands. And while pretty much all 2021 flagships and even some mid-range phones are launching with 5G compatibility, there's also a lot of phones on the budget side of the aisle that is 7uy still coming with only LTE support at most. While it will be a while before 5G is as mainstream as 4G is right now, we have to start somewhere. And Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A22 is purported to be the most affordable Samsung smartphone with 5G support, if leaks are to be believed.
