Despite being over a year old at this point, the Samsung Galaxy Book Go is one of the more interesting devices in Samsung's laptop lineup. It comes with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 chipset, which is a very good processor for an affordable device like this, and it enables entry-level performance and battery life for a lower price than you might expect. It even has a decent screen and it's decently well-built. There's also a 5G model that has a more powerful Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 processor, and that one is still pretty good value, too.

Samsung released a whole bunch of Windows laptops earlier this year, including a model that uses Qualcomm's latest desktop Snapdragon chip. The Galaxy Book Go can't quite match the performance of the M1 MacBook Air and Pro, but the ARM-based design does give it better battery life and lower temperatures than many other Windows laptops. Now you can get the Galaxy Book Go for $299, a reduction of $51 from the original price.

Samsung Galaxy Book Go Review: Crazy value at a crazy price

Samsung's Galaxy Book Go uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor, allong it to be thinner and lighter than other $349 laptops.

I can't tell you how excited I was to write this review. When Qualcomm announced its Snapdragon 7c chipset back in December 2019, it really piqued my interest. It promised the traditional value propositions like integrated cellular connectivity, thinner and fanless designs, and better battery life, but at a price point that most certainly wasn't traditional. The sub-$500 laptop market isn't a good one, and has few products I can recommend, but the Samsung Galaxy Book Go offers things that others don't.

Samsung Galaxy Book Go First Impressions: I can't believe it's so cheap

When I think of a laptop that costs under $400, I think of something that no one should buy under any circumstances. I think of thick, heavy laptops with terrible battery life and often, underpowered processors. But now, the Samsung Galaxy Book Go is on my desk, and my first impressions are not what I expected them to be.
