The Samsung Galaxy J8, Galaxy Tab A 10.5 and the LG Q70 are the latest in line to receive Android 10 update with new features and Android security patches.
As the foundation of Android 11 is getting finalized, several OEMs are trying to clear their backlogs by pushing stable Android 10 updates to the eligible devices. Samsung, for example, has upgraded a bunch of Galaxy devices, including tablets, to Android 10 with the company's own One UI 2 UI on top in the last few weeks. Two more Samsung devices - the Galaxy J8 and the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 - are now receiving the same treatment across the globe, and LG is extending the same treatment to the LG Q70.
Samsung starts rolling out the Galaxy J8's Android Pie update with One UI
The Samsung Galaxy J8 is the first of Samsung's budget J-series to receive the Android Pie-powered One UI software update.
Over the past couple of months, Samsung has proven that they can do software updates. The last three generations of S series now run on the latest version of Android, as well as last two generations of Note series. Now it's about time that Samsung started seriously updating their budget and mid-range offerings. As it turns out, the Samsung Galaxy J8 is the first device to receive Android Pie-powered One UI. The update has already gone out in Russia, so it won't be long from now that other regions start receiving the update.
