Samsung’s One UI 3.1 update train is moving at full steam. The Korean OEM has already updated a bunch of its older flagship phones with the latest One UI version in most regions and has now shifted its focus to updating its legacy mid-range lineup. Just a few days ago, the Samsung Galaxy A50, A50s, and Galaxy A70 received a taste of stable Android 11 with One UI 3.1. Now, it appears the Galaxy A40 and the Galaxy A80 are also getting the sweet treat of Android 11. And as you might have guessed, the builds are indeed based on One UI 3.1.

Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 2.0 update based on Android 10 to the Galaxy A40, Galaxy A80 and the Galaxy A7 (2018) in multiple regions.

The latest version of Samsung's in-house Android skin, i.e. One UI 2.1, is currently available on the Galaxy Z Flip as well as on the Galaxy S20 series, while phones like the Galaxy Note 10, S10, Note 9, and S9 are scheduled to get the update soon. On the other hand, a bunch of  'A' series mid-rangers from the company have received the One UI 2.0 update on top of Android 10. The list includes the Galaxy A30, Galaxy A50s, Galaxy A70, Galaxy A70s and the Galaxy A6 (2018) so far, but now we have three new candidates in the roster. The One UI 2.0 update is reportedly hitting the Galaxy A7 (2018), Galaxy A80 and the Galaxy A40 units in selected regions.

Google surprised a lot of people with the augmented reality achievements the company was able to make when it announced ARCore. It was a much better way to tackle the space than its previous attempts with Project Tango and was open to more devices. However, the company hasn't treated it like some of its other services and added support to all devices running a certain version of Android. Instead, they have been manually adding support for various devices and the Galaxy Tab S5e, Galaxy A30, Galaxy A40, Galaxy A50, Galaxy A60, Galaxy A70, Galaxy A80 from Samsung are the latest to receive support.

Netflix is evergrowing and added almost 10 million subscribers in the last quarter globally a lot of people actually enjoy streaming it on their mobile devices. Over the last year, Widevine L1 license has almost become a popular criterion for buying a smartphone or a tablet and this shows that prefer a quality viewing experience. Although Widewine L1 is the preliminary step to being able to binge any over the top video content in HD, Netflix videos are still limited to 480p unless the device is certified by the company and the process involves certain additional quality checks. Now, as many as 23 smartphones and tablets are getting added to this roster of supported devices while select others are also getting support for HDR content.
