Samsung's One UI is inarguably one of the most feature-rich Android skins on the market. It packs a boatload of extras that you don't get on Android skins from other OEMs, and Samsung keeps adding even more features with each major update. However, due to the sheer number of features Samsung adds to One UI with each successive update, some of the features fly under the radar. The 24-hour time lapse feature in the Gallery app on One UI 4.1 is a case in point.

Amidst all the talk about Android 13, some people forget that OEMs are still working on updating their smartphones to Android 12. Samsung, for example, has upgraded a bunch of Galaxy devices to Android 12 with the company’s own One UI 4.1 skin on top in the last few weeks. Now, two more Galaxy A series phones – the Galaxy A22 4G and the Galaxy A41 – are receiving the same treatment in select regions.

Compared to the global Android device variants, US models have a reputation for being slow with software updates. The OEMs hoped to improve upon that with their close collaboration with the carriers, but the results have been mixed at best. The US Samsung Galaxy A32 5G model, for example, received the One UI 4.1 update more than two weeks after its international counterpart. The saga continues, as the Korean OEM is now bringing Android 12 to two more phones in the US weeks after the global rollout. The US variants of the Galaxy A42 5G and the Galaxy A71 5G are the latest Samsung A-series devices to get a taste of One UI 4 with Android 12.

Samsung has been quite generous with delivering the One UI 4.1 update. Aside from the flagships, the Korean OEM rolled out the new skin to affordable offerings like the Galaxy Note 10 Lite as well. That phone is powered by the Exynos 9810 processor, a 10nm octa-core SoC from 2018 that also powered the international variant of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9. Unfortunately, these devices didn't even receive the Android 11 update from Samsung, although both of them are theoretically capable of running it. This prompted XDA Recognized Developer AlexisXDA to port the One UI 4.1-flavored Android 12 firmware to the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9.
