All smartphones, regardless of their make and model, offer features that help you send an emergency SOS call or a message, so you can seek assistance during a medical emergency or dangerous situation. The features themselves or the way you access them varies between manufacturers, but they can all help guard your personal safety. Samsung's Galaxy devices also have these life-saving emergency SOS features as a part of the company's One UI software.

How many times have you thought you've captured the perfect picture from your phone, only to look at it after the fact to see an uninvited person or an object ruining the shot? We've all been there, right? It's always that one person or that one kid in the background taking everything away from an otherwise beautiful photo. It could also just be an object that you didn't notice was there before taking the shot, or it even could be a crowded beach or other touristy places where people won't let you capture a clean shot.

I hang onto Android phones due to their customization. The fact that I can install any application and do almost whatever I want within reason is super fun, and I like the freedom of exploring different customization apps and features to tailor my experience based on the device. For instance, the apps I use to customize my experience on the Pixel 7 are different from the ones I use on the Galaxy S23 or OnePlus 11.

Samsung's One UI software has evolved a lot over the years, and it has played a huge role in shaping the experience of modern Samsung phones. One UI's customizations and additional features on top of Android make it stand out from the rest, and I also like how the company is constantly adding new features and improving the existing ones. One such feature that has improved over the last couple of updates is Samsung's smart suggestions.

One UI is one of the main reasons why Samsung Galaxy devices are among the best phones on the market. The Android skin offers a fast and smooth experience and packs a boatload of additional features that give it an edge over other OEM Android skins. The best part is that Samsung keeps adding more useful features to the mix with each successive update. For instance, One UI 5 based on Android 13 introduced stackable widget support, new multitasking gestures, lock screen customizations, and much more.

One UI 5.1 has been rolling out to older Samsung Galaxy devices quickly in the last few weeks. Despite only being an incremental upgrade over 5.0, it carries over several small but useful features from the Galaxy S23 series to its older siblings. Now, the One UI 5.1 release has arrived on a few more Samsung phones, including the Galaxy A73 5G, Galaxy Z Fold 2, and the Galaxy Note 20 family.

One UI 5.1 is the latest iteration of Samsung’s custom Android skin. It made its debut on the Galaxy S23 series and subsequently available as an incremental update to a number of flagships running One UI 5.0. Now, the Korean OEM is rolling out the new firmware for the Galaxy S21 FE and the 5G variant of the Galaxy S20 FE in multiple regions.

Samsung has rolled out its Android 13 update to many phones and tablets, branded as One UI 5.0, but the Korean OEM introduced a minor revision with the Galaxy S23 series. The One UI 5.1 update was hinted to arrive on select phones and tablets, but the company didn't specify any official roadmap. Nonetheless, the rollout has already started in full swing, as the Galaxy S22, S21, S20, as well as the foldables have picked up the new release.

Another day, another modder shoehorning the newest Android build to legacy devices. While the Samsung Galaxy S23 series is stealing all the limelight, a developer in our forums has managed to port One UI 5.0 with Android 13 to the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 in the form of an aftermarket firmware called Noble ROM.

Samsung's One UI 5 update based on Android 13 has been rolling out to a number of its smartphones over the past month, and for the most part, it looks like things have been good. But apparently, the new update creates a unique issue for Fitbit Charge 5 and Fitbit Luxe owners, where the devices can no longer sync. As you can imagine, this is a pretty big problem, but it looks like Fitbit is aware, and a fix is incoming.

So far, Samsung has done a pretty good job in rolling out One UI 5 to its lineup of Galaxy smartphones and tablets, but there’s still a fair bit of work to do. Even though the holiday season is upon us, the company has been expanding Android 13 to more Galaxy A, M, and XCover series devices over the past few days.
