Apple is likely to reveal the iPhone 15 series at its upcoming September event, which can be exciting, but the launch of a new iPhone is not what it was years ago. Users today can only expect Apple to bring incremental upgrades or too-little-too-late features like a USB-C port.

Does the Apple iPad 10 support Face ID? Does it support Touch ID?

Apple has finally unveiled the iPad 10 (2022). Due to its design, you might know if it does or doesn't support Face ID or Touch ID. Here's the answer.

Apple revealed the iPad 10 through a press release in October 2022. Typically, the company had included a minor spec bump with every annual refresh that revolves around the processor. This time around, the Cupertino firm went ahead and refreshed the entire tablet, and introduced a modern design and new colors in the process. Now, the iPad 10 matches the other recent iPads by featuring flat edges and round screen corners. It also has an edge-to-edge display with no physical Home button.

When you buy a new iPhone today, there's a very high chance it's equipped with Face ID. For the unfamiliar, Apple first introduced this technology back in 2017 -- when it launched the iconic iPhone X. The device utilizes a dot projector, in addition to other sensors, to build a 3D map of a user's face. The map then becomes a validation reference when someone tries to unlock the phone. Face ID also handles Apple Pay authentication and App Store purchases. Prior to this biometric implementation, the high-end iPhone used to depend on Touch ID instead.

Apple won't release an under-display Touch ID iPhone anytime soon, even though your sibling can unlock your Face ID iPhone

Apple appears to have no near-future plans to release an iPhone with an under-display Touch ID, which is bad since Face ID isn't that secure.

Apple's iPhones are great smartphones, and they have been so for a fair few years now. No matter which side of the Android vs iOS debate you stand on, it's hard not to recognize the iPhone as a piece of tech that everyone in the industry tries to compete against. Anything that Apple does with the iPhone, the smartphone industry mocks for the first year and then shamelessly copies the next year. On the flip side, Apple is very slow to jump on new tech, and Android OEMs usually have features years before the Cupertino-based giant decides to adopt them. One such situation is under-display fingerprint sensors, a tech that Android OEMs have adopted since 2018. If you were waiting for Apple to adopt an in-display fingerprint sensor, you'll have to wait a few more years, even though Touch ID has plenty of its own issues.
