If you want to test Windows 11 features in preview, the way to do it is by signing up for the Windows Insider Program. This is the method Microsoft has been using for nearly ten years to test new features ahead of general availability, and it's a fun way to get a glimpse into the future of Windows 11.

Yesterday, Microsoft began rolling out Patch Tuesday updates for supported versions of Windows 11 and Windows 10. The release introduced a bunch of major changes in Windows 11 version 23H2 and 22H2, such as the availability of Copilot, an upgraded volume mixer, an enhanced File Explorer, and more. Meanwhile, only a couple of minor security tweaks were on offer for Windows 11 version 21H2, which is somewhat expected. Now, it seems like version 22H2 could be going down the path of its predecessor soon as well.

Unlike older versions of Windows, Microsoft makes it rather easy to download Windows 11 installation media, if you know where to look. However, both the Media Creation Tool and the ISO files offered by Microsoft to regular users usually contain outdated builds, which means you have to download the latest monthly updates during/after the installation phase. In case you need to service more than one PC, this design only exacerbates the problem.

After more than a year of testing with Windows Insiders, Microsoft finally released Windows 11 version 22H2 - also known as the 2022 Update - to the general public on September 20th. There's quite a lot in this update to improve various parts of the experience, whether it's simple visual changes, adding new features, or bringing back old ones that were removed in the original Windows 11 release. Having tested the update for a few months prior to launch, I've developed some opinions, and I'd like to highlight my five favorite features in Windows 11 version 22H2.

File Explorer in Windows 11 2022 Update

Microsoft has released the first set of additional features - a feature drop, if you will - for Windows 11 version 22H2, or the 2022 Update, to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview channel. These features were announced a couple of weeks ago when Windows 11 version 22H2 began rolling out to the general public, and Microsoft is expecting to make them available to the general public at the end of October.

Windows 11 recently received its first major update, formally called the Windows 11 2022 Update, though you may also know it as version 22H2. This is a big update with a lot of new features, and among them is the new Smart App Control, a security feature designed to prevent unsafe apps from running. Smart App Control works in the background, but there are a few things you need to know if you want to use it.

It's been a year in the making, but Microsoft has finally started rolling out the Windows 11 2022 Update, which is the first major feature update for Windows 11 since it launched on October 5th, 2021. If you've been following the news cycle for the past few months, you might have heard of this update as Windows 11 version 22H2, but those things are one and the same. With that said, a more pertinent question might be how to install it on your PC. If you're not sure what to do, we're here to show you how you can install the Windows 11 2022 Update (or version 22H2) on your computer.

Microsoft today announced that the Windows 11 2022 Update - until now known only as Windows 11 version 22H2 - is now starting to roll out to eligible PCs, and with it come a ton of new features and capabilities. These cover a wide range of scenarios, but some of the most important updates have to do with accessibility. Microsoft has been committed to accessibility across its products for a few years now, and the Windows 11 2022 Update includes some big additions, like live captions and voice access, among others.

Windows 11 Start Menu customization

Today, Microsoft is releasing the Windows 11 2022 Update, also known as Windows 11 version 22H2. The new update contains lots of new features, such as folders in the Start Menu, drag and drop in the taskbar, touch improvements, and a lot more.
