XDA forums now available for the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, 12S Pro, 12S, and Asus ROG Phone 6 series
The XDA forums are now open for the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Xiaomi 12S Pro, Xiaomi 12S, Asus ROG Phone 6, and Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro.
In terms of new smartphone releases, this week was absurd, with several new devices arriving from Xiaomi and Asus. Xiaomi announced four new handsets, three of which have new XDA forums for these devices. Asus also announced its ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro. We are happy to announce that XDA forums for both phones are also now open.
The Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro offer minor upgrades over the Xiaomi 12 series
The Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro offer minor improvements over the Xiaomi 12 series, including the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip and some camera improvements.
Xiaomi today unveiled three flagship devices as part of its new Xiaomi 12S series -- the Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Out of the three, the Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro are minor upgrades over the flagship Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro from last year. The top-of-the-line Xiaomi 12S Ultra, however, is a completely new device that succeeds the older Mi 11 Ultra. We've already covered all that's new in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra in a separate post and, in this post, we'll take a quick look at the other two models.
Xiaomi's Leica partnership will bear fruit in form of the new Xiaomi 12S series early next month
Xiaomi has announced that it will unveil the Xiaomi 12S series, featuring Leica-branded smartphones, early next month.
We first heard rumors about Xiaomi's Leica partnership in March of this year. At the time, new strings in the Chinese version of MIUI's Gallery Editor app revealed that an upcoming Xiaomi device would feature Leica-branded filters. A few months later, Xiaomi officially confirmed the Leica partnership and announced that the first phones developed in collaboration with the camera maker would hit the shelves in July. As expected, Xiaomi has now announced that it will host a launch event on July 4 to unveil the new Xiaomi 12S series featuring Leica-branded cameras.
