Earlier in March, the team at LineageOS released LineageOS 18.1, the latest release based on Android 11. At the launch time, LineageOS 18.1 was made available to nearly sixty Android devices. But this list has continued to grow in size over the past weeks. Last month we saw the official builds of LineageOS 18.1 going live for the Galaxy Note 3, Mi A2, LG 3, Galaxy S5, OnePlus 6/6T, and more. The OnePlus 7T and Google’s Pixel 3 series joined the list shortly after. Now ten more phones have just been added to the official LineageOS 18.1 build roster.

If you consider yourself a true flashaholic, then the name "Resurrection Remix" should ring a bell. The custom ROM is known for its style and customizability, while its foundation is based on bits and pieces from LineageOS, Pixel Experience, and OmniROM. The developers started rebasing the project on top of Android 10 a few months ago, and they are now confident enough to remove the beta tag. The Resurrection Remix team has recently announced its first set of stable builds based on Android 10 for a bunch of devices, including several Xiaomi smartphones and a few others from ASUS, OnePlus, Samsung, and other OEMs.

Its origin can be traced back to CyanogenMod, which was itself not only the most well-known custom ROM many years ago but also the reason the OnePlus One was so well-received by the community. Over the years, the team behind LineageOS has kept the project updated with new versions of Android for dozens of Android devices. The latest version, LineageOS 17.1, is based on Android 10 and supports a long list of devices. Now, the custom ROM team has added official support for their latest release for a lot of devices from OnePlus, Samsung, Xiaomi, and more. Newly added devices include the Essential Phone, Moto X (2014), Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016), Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, and more.

Official TWRP is now available for the Xiaomi Mi A2
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is the newest addition to the list of devices officially supported by TWRP. Head on over for the download link for official TWRP for Mi A2!
The Xiaomi Mi A2 was launched in July 2018, bringing in the sweet taste of vanilla Android through Android One onto Xiaomi's hardware. While the Mi A2 is a good smartphone, the pricing for the device left it vulnerable to the intense competition in its target markets. Xiaomi later gave the device a permanent price cut, which made it a much sweeter option to purchase than what it started out with.
Some Xiaomi Mi A2 users are facing bootloops after the January 2019 update
Some Xiaomi Mi A2 users are reporting that their device no longer boots up after installing the January 2019 security patch update.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is one of the best mid-range devices in the Android One program. I owned the device for a few months and it never let me down. Its more-than-capable hardware specifications with the latest version of Android helped me power through basic day-to-day tasks. Other than some flaws like low display brightness and slower flash storage, I didn't have many complaints about the device. Monthly security updates have also been a treat. Unfortunately, it seems the latest monthly update is causing a rather nasty problem for some Mi A2 users.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite gets official TWRP support
Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite owners can now install an official build of TWRP thanks to the work from maintainer Senior Recognized Developer Dees_Troy.
Xiaomi's device releases have been rather interesting lately. The company has launched a phone in one country and then rebranded into a completely different series with a different name in another country. They released the Redmi Note 6 Pro without lower-end counterparts (like they have in the past), and to continue supporting the Android One program they released two devices at very close price points but with different designs and hardware choices. That last example I am referring to is the Xiaomi Mi A2 and the Mi A2 Lite, where the Mi A2 has the Snapdragon 660 SoC and a 3,000mAh battery while the Mi A2 Lite has the Snapdragon 625 and a 4,000mAh battery.
Xiaomi Mi A2 users report massive battery drain, maybe due to fingerprint sensor bug
Things haven't gone so well for some Xiaomi Mi A2 customers though as there seems to be a random bug that causes massive battery drain.
Google's Android One program has evolved over the years. Some could easily suggest its initial incarnation is more reminiscent of what Android Go is today. Android One has evolved into a brand that would provide a consistent user experience while also giving the OEM some freedom to make their devices unique. Things haven't gone so well for some Xiaomi Mi A2 customers though as there seems to be a random bug that causes massive battery drain.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Review: A Camera-Focused Contender in a Competitive Segment
This is XDA's in-depth review of the Xiaomi Mi A2, covering aspects such as display quality, system performance, camera performance, and more.
For years, using Xiaomi phones meant facing MIUI out of the box. This changed with the Xiaomi Mi A1, which was the first Xiaomi phone to be powered by the Android One platform. The Mi A1 used the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, and its hardware was the same as the Xiaomi Mi 5X. However, it swapped out MIUI in favor of stock Android Nougat. In our review, we concluded that Xiaomi hardware coupled with stock Android software made for a delightful user experience.
Xiaomi Mi A2 & Mi A2 Lite kernel source code now available
Kernel sources for the Xiaomi Mi A2 and Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite are now available. Developers can start building TWRP and other mods for these devices.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 and Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite were released nearly a month ago. Both of them are part of the Android One program, which means they offer a stock Android experience unlike Xiaomi's other smartphones running MIUI. The Xiaomi Mi A2 is a mid-ranger with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, 4/6GB RAM, and 3,000 mAh battery. The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, however, is a budget device with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, 3/4GB RAM, and an oddly beefier 4,000 mAh battery compared to its counterpart. Both of the devices run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 launched in Spain on July 24 as the successor to the Xiaomi Mi A1. It's the Android One version of the China-only Xiaomi Mi 6X. The phone launched in India on August 8, and it's set to go on sale for the first time in the country today at 12PM IST via Amazon and Mi.com. In terms of specifications, the Mi A2 slots in above the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro as it has a higher-end SoC (Snapdragon 660 vs. Snapdragon 636), a better dual rear camera setup, and additional features such as a USB Type-C port and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support (the Indian variant also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0, but users will need to buy a charger as the bundled charger only supports 5V/2A charging).

Xiaomi Mi A2 will support Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 in India only
The Xiaomi Mi A2 will support Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 in India only, while other markets will support only Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Read on!
The Xiaomi Mi A2 was recently launched alongside the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite at an event in Spain. Xiaomi's events outside of China are usually held in India first, seeing as it is a priority market where the Chinese OEM shipped ~10 Million smartphones in Q2 2018 alone. The Mi A2 will be available in India too, as was announced at the launch event.
Xiaomi Mi A2 & Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite are the latest Android One phones from Xiaomi
Xiaomi Mi A2 & Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, Xiaomi's successors to the Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One phone, are here. Here's the specifications, pricing, and availability.
Xiaomi made headlines last year when they announced the Xiaomi Mi A1. The device was a rebranded Xiaomi Mi 5X, a decent midrange phone, but the actual software running on it was a strong departure from Xiaomi's MIUI. The Xiaomi Mi A1 was Xiaomi's first device in the Android One program which meant the device ran a bloatware-free, no-frills stock Android experience. Now, the company has unveiled the successors to the Xiaomi Mi A1 - namely, the Xiaomi Mi A2 and the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. Here are the specifications, pricing, and availability for the Xiaomi Mi A2 and Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite.
Here's a list of Android devices that support Seamless Updates
Android Nougat added an update system called "seamless updates" where updates take place in the background thanks to a dual A/B partition setup. We've put together a list of Android devices that support the A/B seamless system updates, come check it out!
While some of our readers feel lucky to even receive updates on a consistent basis, others might dread them because of how long an update can take. On most Android smartphones and tablets, an update can take a couple of minutes of your time as the updater has to patch all of the system files which can't happen while you're booted into Android. That's why Google introduced "seamless updates"—a new A/B dual partition scheme with Android Nougat.
