Between Xiaomi and its various sub-brands, the company seemingly has a new phone out every few weeks. This would be annoying if these releases were mediocre, but that's not the case. Xiaomi's flagship phones have gotten very good over the years -- not just a contender to challenge for the top spot of our Best Android Phones list, but even our Best Phones list, period. And its budget and mid-tier offerings usually offer more value than competitors at the same price point.

Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO share quite a few resources amongst the three, even though both Redmi and POCO firmly insist on their own independence from the main Xiaomi brand. While Redmi's independence is within the context of the Chinese market, POCO maintains that it is independent of Xiaomi both in India and Globally as well. Nonetheless, we frequently see the same product being rebranded into different avatars. The recently launched Redmi K40 Gaming Edition could be the next smartphone to be rebranded, possibly taking on the avatar of the POCO F3 GT in India.

Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi K40 series in China late last month, featuring three exciting devices — the Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and the Redmi K40 Pro+. We expect the devices to make their way to international markets later this year, but Xiaomi hasn't shared any information regarding that at the moment. Recent leaks suggest that the company may launch the Redmi K40 as the POCO F3 outside of China, however, that may not be the case for the Indian market.

Redmi K40 is likely launching in global markets as the POCO F3

A certification of an upcoming POCO device suggests that the company is planning to launch the upcoming Redmi K40 as a POCO-branded device in some markets.

Although POCO insists on calling itself an independent brand, its product portfolio mostly consists of rebranded Xiaomi devices. For example, the POCO F2 Pro from last year was a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro 5G, the POCO X2 was a rebranded Redmi K30, and the POCO M2 Pro was a rehashed Redmi Note 9 Pro. While the company has launched a couple of original devices in the recent past, it seems like POCO isn't going to completely give up the rebranding strategy anytime soon. We have now learned that the company is planning to launch the upcoming Redmi K40 as a POCO-branded phone in some markets.

Redmi's flagship killer K series delivers fantastic value for money. The third-generation in the series, i.e., the Redmi K40 lineup, including the Redmi K40, K40 Pro, and the K40 Pro+, was unveiled earlier this week. Despite flagship-grade specifications including 120Hz AMOLED displays, either Snapdragon 870 0r Snapdragon 888 high-end chipsets, and up to 108MP cameras, the Redmi K40 series starts at an unbelievable price of just about $310. Out of these devices, the base Redmi K40 variant is expected to be rebranded as a POCO smartphone — probably taking the name of POCO F3 — for the global markets. How do you like that idea?
