Xiaomi has an extensive portfolio in key Asian markets like India, China, Indonesia, and beyond. Thanks to its insane value, the Redmi Note series is one of the most popular mobile lineups globally. For 2022, Xiaomi has a full refresh for its Redmi Note lineup, with devices like the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G occupying the top-end within this branding. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G in India in March, and the company launched another device with the same name for the global market as well. If you are wondering what do you get inside the box for the Indian Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G, we're here to answer that question for you.

Shortly after debuting the Redmi Note 11 lineup in China, Xiaomi launched four Redmi Note 11 series devices globally. However, the devices launched in international markets did not feature the same hardware as the Chinese models, even though they featured the same design and marketing names. It seems like Xiaomi has no plans to abandon this annoying trend, as the company has now launched three more devices in international markets that are rebranded versions of existing Xiaomi/Redmi phones.

The company is now adding two devices to its lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G and Redmi Note 11 Pro (4G).

Before I begin evaluating the Redmi Note 11, which is the base model of Xiaomi's just-announced line consisting of four phones, I must confess: it is hard for me to review mid-range phones. I have been a privileged gadget enthusiast most of my life, meaning even before I got to test smartphones for a living, I was already using only flagship phones. And so for someone like me, who regularly gets to handle the latest foldables or the most bleeding-edge glass slabs, it's natural for me to feel a bit bored when testing phones that are clearly not using the latest and best components.

On Wednesday, Xiaomi officially introduced the Redmi Note 11 series to international markets. The lineup consists of four devices: the Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11s, Redmi Note 11 Pro, and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. If you remember, Xiaomi also has a sub-brand called POCO whose portfolio largely consists of rebranded Redmi and Xiaomi smartphones. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that one of the newly-launched Redmi Note 11 phones is now set to take on new clothes and launch under a different identity in other markets.

Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi launched the latest iteration of its popular Redmi Note lineup in China last year. The new Redmi Note 11 series included three devices -- the vanilla Redmi Note 11, the Redmi Note 11 Pro, and the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus. A month after the launch, Xiaomi debuted the Redmi Note 11 series in the Indian market. However, the company only launched the base variant in the region and, that too, under a different name. In keeping with this annoying rebranding trend, Xiaomi then launched the Chinese Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus in India as the Xiaomi 11i and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge. And now, the company has launched four slightly different devices in other international markets under the Redmi Note 11 banner.

Back in 2015, Xiaomi launched the Mi 4i -- a phone specially tailored for the Indian market as denoted by the letter 'i' in the moniker. However, the brand went silent soon after with no new launches in this series. Fast forward to 2021, Xiaomi resurrected the series with the Mi 10i, this time with a slightly different approach. The 'i' now stood for innovation which made sense given that the Mi 10i was one of the first phones in its segment to come with a 108MP camera. Building on those innovations, Xiaomi has now launched its first phone of 2022 -- the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge with the key innovation now being the 120W charging.

Towards the end of October this year, Xiaomi launched the latest iteration of its popular Redmi Note series in China. The new Redmi Note 11 lineup included three devices -- the standard Redmi Note 11, the Redmi Note 11 Pro, and the Redmi Note 11 Pro+. Just a few days after the launch, XDA Senior Member kacskrz spotted new strings within MIUI ROMs suggesting that Xiaomi was planning to launch the two Pro variants in India under the Xiaomi banner. The strings revealed that the Chinese Redmi Note 11 Pro (codename: pisarro) would make its way to India as the Xiaomi 11i (codename: pisarroin), while the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ (codename: pisarropro) would launch as the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge (pisarroproin).

Redmi Note 11T 5G Review: Successfully carrying the burden of 5G in 2021

The Redmi Note 11T 5G is Xiaomi's first device in the Redmi Note 11 series in India. Should you buy it over a 4G phone though? We'll tell you!

Generally, I start reviews by building some context around the product in question. This time, I've decided to start off with the verdict. The Redmi Note 11T is a typical mid-range 5G phone from 2021. It's got a capable chipset with support for 5G, a large battery, a decent display, and an average set of cameras. This has been the story of just about every 5G phone in this segment so far. The fact is, the 5G tag brands are chasing after comes at a price, and this burden remains quite avoidable in India in 2021.

The Redmi Note series of devices are extremely popular in India. Every year, Xiaomi provides a package that has solid specifications at a competitive price -- a mantra that has worked wonders in a price-sensitive market like India. Earlier this year, the Redmi Note 10 series made headlines by launching with up to a 120Hz AMOLED display and a 108MP camera on the Pro Max variant. It even featured on our best phones to buy in India list for the overall value offered. Now, Xiaomi is following it up with the Redmi Note 11 series and it's beginning with the Redmi Note 11T 5G in India.

Just yesterday, Xiaomi took the wraps off the latest iteration on the Redmi Note 11 series in China, giving us the Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11 Pro, and Redmi Note 11 Pro+. The Redmi Note series is one of the most successful branding efforts from the company, with many millions of devices sold each year across the globe. So it comes as no surprise that Xiaomi will want to bring the device to more markets. But as we have learned from new information, the newly launched Redmi Note 11 Pro will don the rebranded avatar of Xiaomi 11i when it launches in India.
