Team Win Recovery Project, or TWRP for short, is the most popular custom recovery software designed for Android devices. It can make and restore full data backups, modify protected files, flash zip archives that contain modified apps or aftermarket OSes, and do much more. It's available for a plethora of devices, and the list of supported devices keeps growing. Recently, the team officially added support for the Realme XT, the Realme X2, and the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4.

The Realme XT launched in India with ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie but received an update to Android 10 with Realme UI earlier this year. There is already an ample selection of custom ROMs available for the device on our forums. Now with official TWRP support, users can flash custom ROMs and other mods without worrying about permanently losing all their data.

The Realme X2 launched shortly after the Realme XT and can be considered as a slightly upgraded variant of it. It, too, launched with ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie but it also received an update to Android 10 with Realme UI earlier this year. There are comparatively fewer custom ROMs available for the Realme X2, but things could pick up with official TWRP now available.

Lastly, there's the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 and Mi Pad 4 Plus. These tablets are Xiaomi's latest affordable mid-range tablets, though sadly they never launched outside of China. Xiaomi has not released MIUI 11 or Android 10 for the two tablets, so custom ROMs are currently the only way to enjoy the latest Android version. Fortunately, there are a plethora of options available on our forums.

You can download TWRP from the download pages linked below. Before you can install it, though, you'll need to unlock the bootloader. Realme has posted guides on its official forums that teach you how to unlock the bootloader, while Xiaomi requires you to apply for a bootloader unlock code.
