Vivo has cemented its position among the top five smartphone brands in India with its strong offline distribution channels and partnerships in leading sports leagues such as the IPL. While the company has a strong foothold in offline retail, it is now targetting at the group of consumers for whom online is the go-to destination for purchasing products. As part of this altercation, Vivo recently announced the Z1Pro  (our hands-on) in India and the smartphone strikes a decent balance among elements such as style, performance, photography, and long battery life for an uninterrupted multimedia experience. Now, Vivo is launching another device in an all-new series, the Vivo S1, which comes with a similar sparkly back design, but with certain improvements in the display as well as the UX.

To begin with, the Vivo S1 features a relatively compact 6.38-inch full HD AMOLED display instead of the IPS LCD panel in case of the Z1Pro. Then, there's a fingerprint scanner within the display instead of on the back, which energizes the gradient pattern on the blue variant, as well as the diamond, cut design on the black variant. The smartphone also gets a dedicated button to trigger the Google Assistant.

The Vivo S1 retains the same triple camera setup as the Z1Pro. This includes a 16MP Sony IMX499 sensor with f/1.8 lens, an 8MP super wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. The front-facing camera in the waterdrop uses a 32MP sensor, which is the same as the Vivo Z1Pro.
