Vivo is the second-largest smartphone manufacturer in China by the volume of units sold and stands third in the Indian market. Vivo has been one of the most innovative companies when it comes to cameras, especially selfie cameras. They were the first to introduce the concept of pop-up cameras and have made major progress in terms of economizing the technology. Vivo India claims that users rate its selfie cameras as the best and is now taking the upping the game by putting two cameras in the selfie pop-up to complement the quad-camera setup on the back.

Vivo claims that this is the world's first smartphone with dual cameras inside a pop-up. This setup includes a 32MP primary selfie camera along with an 8MP wide-angle sensor. The pop-up also fits a soft LED light in between the two sensors to help users take selfies in low-light.

On the front, the Vivo V17 Pro features a 6.44-inch "Ultra-FullView" FullHD+ Super AMOLED display. Thanks to the pop-up camera, the V17 Pro has a screen-to-body ratio of 91.65%. The display also features an in-display fingerprint scanner and is protected under Schott Xensation UP instead of the typical Gorilla Glass protection. Vivo claims that beings Super AMOLED, the display reaches a maximum brightness of 600 nits.

In terms of the rear camera, the Vivo V17 Pro features a 48MP Sony IMX582 as the primary sensor, a 13MP telephoto sensor with 2X zoom, an 8MP sensor for with a 120º ultra-wide field of view and macro photography, and lastly a 2MP depth sensor. The primary 48MP camera supports features such as Super Night Mode and improved HDR. The bokeh strength in the shots captured with the V17 Pro can be adjusted after the images have been taken.

On the performance front, the Vivo V17 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 675 chipset along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The smartphone supports dual-band Wi-Fi and comes with Bluetooth 5.0. Supplying for power needs is a 4100mAh battery and the smartphone gets support for 18W fast charging. In terms of UI, the Vivo V17 Pro runs Vivo's custom overlay called FunTouchOS. The UI appears to be inspired by older versions of iOS and comes with several design elements that can be likened to the UI pre-iOS 11.
