Back in May last year, Google introduced a new feature to Wear OS called "Tiles." The feature was designed to help users access the most common actions on their Wear OS smartwatches with just a swipe. At the time of launch, users had access to just 5 Tiles, including Goals, Next event, Forecast, Heart rate, Headlines, and Timer. But third-party developers soon managed to release an Unofficial Tiles API to add custom Tiles to the companion app.

Shortly after that, Google updated the Wear OS app with a menu to help users easily manage Tiles and arrange them according to their preference. However, even with these new additions, users were limited to adding only 5 Tiles on their smartwatch. Now, Google is rolling out an update for the Wear OS app that addresses this issue.

Wear OS app Tiles

With Wear OS app version 2.40, you can finally add more than 5 Tiles to your smartwatch. As you can see in the attached screenshot, we managed to add 10 Tiles on the app, including TicHealth, Forecast, Next event, TicPulse, Timer, Simple Calculator, Headlines, Hand-Wash Timer, Voicememo, and TicExercise. But we aren't sure if the app is now limited to 10 Tiles, as we ran out of more Tiles to add.

In case you own a Wear OS smartwatch and wish to try this new feature, you can download the latest version of the app from the Play Store link below. Alternatively, you can download the latest APK from APKMirror if you haven't received the update on the Play Store. And if you have access to more than 10 Tiles, do let us know how many you're able to add to the app in the comments section below.
