Microsoft has released Windows 11 build 22000.526 to in the Beta and Release Preview channels of the Windows Insider Program. This update adds the features that Microsoft announced for Windows 11 last month, such as the new Widgets button on the taskbar and Teams integrations.

For Widgets, the new button means you'll now be able to see the current weather for your location directly on the taskbar, similar to the news and interests feature that was added to WIndows 10 last year. If you have your taskbar aligned at the center, the Widgets button will now be in the left corner displaying weather information via an icon and text. Additionally, if you hover over the button, the Widgets panel will automatically open, and it will close when you stop hovering. If you have aligned your taskbar to the left, the button will remain in the same place and show your current weather as an icon, but with no text.

As for the Teams integrations, Windows 11 build 22000.526 means you'll be able to quickly share a window to a Teams meeting directly from the taskbar. The option will be visible when you hover over the respective app's icon on the taskbar. Additionally, this build includes a new mute icon on the taskbar, which allows you to mute your microphone for Teams meetings even without opening the Teams window. Both of these features only work with the business/school version of Teams, not the version that's built into Windows 11.

Aside from that, there's the usual array of fixes and improvements in Windows 11 build 22000.629, which are meant to enhance your overall experience. Fixes for Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge, Remote Desktop, and more are all included here. The list is fairly long, so you can find it below.

What's not directly included in Windows 11 build 22000.526 is support for Android apps, but that's because that feature is already available for the Release Preview and Beta channels. The Windows Subsystem for Android is essentially an app you can download from the Microsoft Store, so it doesn't have to be delivered via a system update like this.

All of these new features, including Android apps, should be available for users on the stable release of Windows 11 later this month. Considering they weren't included in this Patch Tuesday's updates, it's likely they'll only be optional for now, so most users won't get them until March.
