Today, Microsoft is releasing a new Windows 11 Insider Preview build in the Dev channel, bringing the build number to 22454. Unsurprisingly, there's not a whole lot that's new. You see, the Dev channel is all about rs_prerelease builds, meaning that while it does get new features first, it's not tied to a specific feature release of the OS. And since the first version of Windows 11 hasn't even shipped yet, we're not seeing much in the way of new features in the Dev channel.

There are some minor changes in Windows 11 build 22454. First of all, you'll see a new, more modern context menu if you right-click on the Recycle Bin. This mainly includes new icons next to the options, but there's also the 'Show more options' selection that expands the menu. This is something that's common across Windows 11.

Speaking of the new context menus, you won't have to click 'Show more options' in the File Explorer to add something to Quick Access. These new context menus were actually designed with the idea in mind that commonly used commands should be front and center, while rarely used commands should take an extra click to get to.

Finally, there's a new version of the Korean IME, which adds Acrylic, dark mode support, and more.

Along with the minor new features, there are a bunch of fixes, improvements, and known issues. Here's what got fixed:

Here's what's still broken:

As far as when notable new features are coming, that should be soon. We're still waiting on Android app support, and Microsoft just teased a new Photos app. There are other new inbox apps to test as well, which might not end up in the initial shipping version of Windows 11.

As always, you can grab today's build via Windows Update if you're on the Dev channel. If you're not, you can go to the Windows Insider Program tab in Settings to get started.
