Xiaomi announces that development of MIUI 11 has begun
Xiaomi isn’t a newcomer to the smartphone industry. The Chinese manufacturer is known for making affordable devices with flagship-like system specifications. Most of their devices (except the ones from the Android One program) come with the company’s own controversial MIUI. The latest iteration of the software, named MIUI 10, was released last year in June and as always, users have mixed feelings about it. The redesign was clearly focused to make the experience of full-screen smartphones a whole lot better, with system optimizations and clever tweaks to go along with them. According to Xiaomi, over 300 million users are on MIUI 10 on 40 different models that already support the stable version of the system since its initial release more than half a year ago.
Just like the stock Android, MIUI also gets a major update every year. Without a surprise, we’ll see MIUI 11 in 2019. Xiaomi just announced that the development of the ROM has already started. According to Liu Ming, head of the product planning department, MIUI 11 has just entered the development stage. It is reported to be “a new and unique OS,” completely reimagined to ensure the best experience on all devices. This is basically everything we know from the Xiaomi MIUI Core Experience Annual Meeting.
We are hoping to learn more about the development of MIUI 11 as it moves forward. There is currently no information about the expected release date or the device availability. All we know is that Xiaomi is going to bring a massive overhaul of the system with the update. We’ll make sure to keep you updated about the new developments of MIUI 11.
