Xiaomi recently announced its latest flagship, Mi 9, with a host of premium features like a sleek design, the latest Snapdragon 855, triple rear cameras, in-display fingerprint scanner, and a lot more for a starting price of nearly $450. That makes for a very compelling option for anyone wishing to experience the luxury of a great device without having to pay as much as flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S10 or Google Pixel 3 XL. But if a reliable camera and attractive design are more important for you in a smartphone than its performance, the Mi 9 SE can also be a great option, especially for its much affordable pricing. And just like the Mi 9, you can now buy it in Europe as well.

While last year's Mi 8 SE was limited to China, the Mi 9 SE is now available in at least two European countries - Spain and the Netherlands. This validates the earlier speculation about Xiaomi releasing a variant of the smartphone suited for markets outside of China. As per Dutch mobile phone retailer, Mobiel.nl, the Mi 9 SE is available for 399 euros (carrier unlocked) or starting at a monthly subscription of 19 euros. The phone is also available in the Polish Mi.com website.

To renew your memory, the Mi 9 SE comes is the first smartphone to be powered by a Snapdragon 712 processor, which is coupled with a 6GB RAM. It features a 5.97-inch AMOLED display including an in-display fingerprint scanner. While the Chinese variant came with 64GB and 128GB options for storage, only the 128GB variant is listed on Mobiel.nl. Additionally, the Mi 9 SE features triple cameras on the back including a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor, an 8MP telephoto sensor, and a super wide angle lens with 123° field of view whereas there's a 20MP camera for selfies.

Besides this, Xiaomi's Twitter handle for Spain also tweeted out that the Mi 9 SE is now available in the country. However, here both - the 64GB and 128GB - models of the smartphone are available priced at 349 and 399 euros, respectively. We're yet to see if Xiaomi announces the Mi 9 SE in other European nations but we expect it to do so, considering its plans to broaden its presence in the west and thus, cut its dependency on markets like China and Asia.

Ahead of this launch, Xiaomi has already released kernel sources for the Mi 9 SE, which will prompt a variety of unofficial development for the smartphone. If you happen to buy the smartphone outside of China, you can visit our forums to check out the latest mods for the smartphone.
