Xiaomi Mi 9T officially announced as the European version of the Redmi K20

Xiaomi has finally officially taken the wraps off the Mi 9T, which they’ve been teasing for a couple of weeks. As was heavily speculated, this is a rebranded version of the Redmi K20 for the European market. The Redmi K20 launched in China last month and now it’s coming to more countries under a different name.

The Xiaomi Mi 9T is on the upper end of the mid-range segment. It features the Snapdragon 730 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of storage, and a big 6.4-inch AMOLED display. The device has high-end features like an in-display fingerprint scanner, pop-up selfie camera, triple rear cameras (including a 48MP sensor), and a beefy 4,000 mAh battery.

The Mi 9T may not have the power of the Snapdragon 855-equipped Mi 9, but it still has a lot to offer. A lot of that has to do with the triple camera setup on the rear. As mentioned, the Mi 9T has a main 48MP sensor just like the Mi 9, though it’s not the exact same. The secondary cameras include a 13MP wide-angle sensor and an 8MP telephoto sensor. For a mid-range device that’s a lot of camera options.

The Xiaomi Mi 9T will be available in Europe (starting with Spain) June 17th from Amazon and Xiaomi’s store. Pricing starts at €329 for the 6/64 variant and €369 for the 6/128 variant, but the 6/64 model will be on sale for €299 during the first 24 hours. It’s available in the same three colors as the Redmi K20: Carbon Black, Glacier Blue, and Flame Red, but the Flame Red will arrive at a later date.
