The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite was launched in July 2018 along with the regular Xiaomi Mi A2, bringing in the goodness of Android One to a Xiaomi device once again. The Mi A2 Lite is a fairly standard phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, 3/4GB RAM and a beefy 4,000mAh battery.

Perhaps the only standout feature on the device was the fact that it came with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, under the Android One program. This allowed the phone to receive its Android Pie update in November 2018 after a brief beta. The phone also had its kernel sources released for both Oreo and Pie updates. And from a community development perspective, the phone also received official TWRP support.
