Xiaomi's MIUI is a heavily modified version of Android, coming in with its own features and in some cases, its own shortcomings. MIUI always invites polarizing opinion, with a vocal group of users hating the changes Xiaomi has made, and a comparatively silent group of users who have grown fond of Xiaomi's changes. These changes extend onto the various features of the ROM as well as to the Xiaomi apps within the ROM. One such app is Mi File Manager, the default, preloaded file management solution present on MIUI ROMs and Xiaomi devices. The app recently got a redesign in a previous beta, and to let the app retain some competitive edge, Xiaomi has now added in Google Drive integration to Mi File Manager.

With Google Drive integration, users can access all of their files that are stored on the cloud from right within the default file manager app. You could have also access the same through the Drive app, which also comes preloaded on the devices as part of Google's app suite. But retaining the familiarity of the default file manager app can be a big deal for some users, so having an option is always nice.

Mi File Manager is also available to install on non-MIUI, non-Xiaomi devices through the Google Play Store. It is a fairly robust file manager, though not the best. If you just want to try it out, you can download it from the Play Store.
