Xiaomi's smartphones tend to be incredibly popular among the developer community, but it can take a long time before they get official support for certain projects. This tends to happen for various reasons but we almost always see some unofficial ports of these projects here in our dedicated device forum. Xiaomi released the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S back in April of last year and the Xiaomi Mi 8 celebrated its release date a couple of months later in June. We've seen a lot of community developer support for these devices and now they have official support for TWRP.

So you now have the option of switching to the official release of TWRP if you have the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S or the Xiaomi Mi 8 and you've been using an unofficial port. Alternatively, anyone who has been waiting for an official release can now download the official image from the link below. Simply flash the image to your device with the fastboot flash recovery twrp.img command while you are in fastboot mode and make sure you reboot directly into recovery mode so TWRP can patch the stock ROM to prevent it from replacing your custom recovery.
