The Chinese version of MIUI 10—the latest version of Xiaomi’s highly popular MIUI custom user interface—was announced in May, and it was followed by the announcement of MIUI 10 Global at the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 event in June. Xiaomi has detailed the roll-out schedule for both MIUI China and MIUI 10 Global Beta. The Global Beta ROM is available for many Xiaomi devices. The company has also rolled-out MIUI 10 China Stable for the Xiaomi Mi 6.

The major difference between the MIUI 10 China ROM and the MIUI 10 Global ROM is that the China version of MIUI is intended for the Chinese audience, whereas the Global ROM is intended for a global audience. The China version does not come with Google Play services, and the language selection is limited. The Global ROM, on the other hand, comes with Google Play services and has many more languages to choose from. The development for the China ROM and the Global ROM proceeds at a different pace, which is why we recently saw the release of MIUI 10 China Stable for the Xiaomi Mi 6, while the Global ROM for the device is still in development.

Users of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro (device code-name: whyred), Xiaomi Mi 8 SE, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, and Xiaomi Mi Note 3 are now receiving MIUI 10 China Stable ROMs in China. It should be noted that despite having the same device code-name, the variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro sold in China and Europe is known as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 AI Dual Camera, and it has different camera specifications and network bands.

The China Stable ROM for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is based on Android 8.0 Oreo, while the ROMs for the Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi 8 SE, and the Mi Note 3 are based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

Users of the aforementioned devices can directly download the MIUI 10 China Stable recovery ROMs via the links below. These recovery ROMs must be flashed in TWRP, and the instructions for doing so can be accessed here. Global ROM users of these devices will have to wait a bit more to receive the MIUI 10 Global Stable update.
