The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro is one of the best purchases available in the early mid-range in India, offering itself as a great hardware package at an aggressive price point. The Redmi Note 7 Pro has also been hailed by us as the true successor to the legacy of the legendary Redmi Note 3, as it offers one of the most competitive and all-round packages in its segment. The task for Xiaomi is not as easy this year, as competitors are closing the gap on the lead that the Chinese company enjoys, with very high value devices like the Realme 3 Pro.

Redmi Note 7 Pro (device codename: violet) users can rejoice now though, because the device is now officially supported by LineageOS 16, courtesy of efforts from XDA Senior Member xdatman. This means that you will now receive regular nightly builds directly from Lineage's automated build system, and thus be up-to-date on features and bug fixes from Lineage. Do note that you would need an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery to install these nightlies or other custom ROMs, but you can easily locate instructions and links for those in our forums for the Redmi Note 7 Pro. Do note that 48MP camera mode does not work on these custom ROMs, but you can still use the rear camera for pixel-binned 12MP images.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro also receives decent attention from Xiaomi for its official updates. The phone has received updates in the past that improved the camera performance from the 48MP rear camera by a good margin. The device is also included in Xiaomi's Android Q plans, though the update will take some time and only land in the first quarter of 2020. All factors considered, the device looks in good shape to continue dominating its price segment till a better value phone comes along.
