Xiaomi recently took the wraps off their latest mid-range device from their Redmi brand, the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Much in the same fashion as their predecessors, the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro, both devices manage to pack a solid specification sheet and feature set while bringing things up a notch with better cameras, better design, and powerful SoCs. In the case of the Pro variant, a 64MP quad-camera setup and a gaming-oriented MediaTek Helio G90T processor serve as the headlining features of this device.

If you recently purchased the device and you're interested in modding it, we have now opened up forums for the Redmi Note 8 Pro for developers and users alike to get creative with it. Xiaomi recently also released kernel sources for the device, so we certainly hope development picks up on this phone. The device will also very likely see a big release in the Indian market, and if Xiaomi manages to maintain its sales trajectory, we expect the phone to keep up the Redmi Note tradition for another year in a row.
