Latest YouTube Update Brings Material Design and More

This is the YouTube you’re looking for. At long last, the much awaited update for YouTube has finally arrived. When Google announced Android 5.0 Lollipop in mid October, they subsequently began rolling out updates for their app suite that complied with their Material Design language. Over time, major Google Apps such as Google Play, GMail,  Play Books, Play Music and more received refreshed UIs, but the elephants in the room were two of the most widely used apps – YouTube and Hangouts.

However, earlier today an update rolled out for YouTube, complete with rounded avatars, colored toolbars, a tall drawer and other Material Design elements, leaving Hangouts in the update crosshairs. The YouTube update, which bumps up the version number to 6.0.11 also brings about an advanced filtering option, enabling filters such as Date Uploaded, Content Type and more.

Head on over to the Android Police link below to check out the latest version of YouTube. The APK is officially signed by Google and will update your existing app.
